"The water that removes hunger" exposition - Video Forum - Projection of the "854" documentry
The Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC) invites tomorrow, Thursday November 3, at 19 hours, to attend the Video Forum, from the screening of the documentary "854", produced by NGO Action Against Hunger. The activity involves the viewing of the audiovisual and contextualisation of the problem of famine unfolding today, by an Action Against Hunger technician. After, a dialogue with the audience will start, asking for everyone to give their views on this harsh reality.
The activity takes place within the framework of the exhibition "The water removes the hunger", which can be visited at the mNACTEC until April 29, 2012. The exhibition is organized by the UNESCO Chair of Sustainability, Action Against Hunger, mNACTEC and the City Council of Terrassa - Solidarity and International Cooperation, which aims to raise awareness among the Catalan society on the causes of hunger in the world, and especially about the importance of access to safe water in the fight against hunger and malnutrition.

854 Is the number of million people suffering from hunger in 2008, when the documentary was recorded. Currently, the number rose to 925 million people. Niger is a country of the Sahel region, at south of the Sahara Desert, which is periodically affected by seasonal hunger and consequent malnutrition. During the 24 minutes the film takes its director, David Munoz, tells the drama of hunger by giving voice to their own characters: the inhabitants of Mayahi (Niger) whom suffer this at first hand and working with them every day to put an end.
